on waking up
i had a bad dream yesterday. I dreamt my friend in the city had packed off to a distant place. And i cried. You can't believe i cried. tell me ....why can't a man cry? Is it taboo? is it becoz a man is supposed to be tough as steel? I feel if u feel like crying u should. Why hold back tears?

Reminds me of an incident in college when a friend of mine was embarrassed to have cried in public - coz he was a man. My take on it was/is and will be "we cry not because we are men or women, we cry because we are human." What say? Now now...the million dollar question is - are you human? Tuskers out there - you are in for a shock!
ReplyDeleteYou are right, resh. We cry becoz we are human. so...why do people fight back tears? I think many who hide their tears in public sob in solitude. is it because people don't want to lower their guard in public? Is it because they feel they are vulnerable to hurts when they cry? It's only human to cry and it's only human to ask the other person why he/she is crying. Instead, I've seen people turning a blind eye to a person's tears. Which only hurts the other person more. Which is why more and more people are signing off saying: Goodbye cruel world. To a certain extent aren't we too to be blamed for the other person's death? If only we had seen the other person's tears...if only we had shared his sorrows...if only we had offered him words of comfort.....if only we had been a little more human...don't u agree with me?
ReplyDeleteyes- but not always do people who commit suicide do it for a valid reason. Errrrrrr - is there a valid reason for inviting death? i mean there are people who die because they think they have no other go to save their honor. But what do u say to those children who are committing suicide for parents asking them to not watch tv etc? There too there might be undelining reasons...I somehow do not think that we cna look into everyone's heart and heal their sorrows. The effort has to start from one's self right? Only if I want to can someone make me live... what say?
